Around 5,000 years ago a new civilisation was developing. Nomadic herdsmen were joining together to form a race of people who would leave their mark on the face of this Earth for all time.
A people who would create beauty, not just to enjoy in this life, but in the next as well. This was the beginning of that great cultural period known as Ancient Egypt.
This website will delve into some of their history, focusing on areas such as their rulers - the kings who we would call Pharaohs, who would call themselves Gods. We will detail some of the more important Pharaohs who were Gods plus the existing, eternal Gods of this amazing culture. Of course, no discussion of Egyptian deities would be complete without covering mummies and the actual ritual of mummification.
Then there are the tombs, not just the great Pyramids, but those burial places that came before and those that were used afterwards. This area is perhaps the most fascinating to us, so we thought it would be useful to detail the archaeologists and other notable people who have made such important discoveries and given us their interpretation of them.
Lastly, we will detail some of the myths and legends surrounding Egypt - some are fanciful and unbelievable, some may leave you thinking……
