Belgian Team Discovers Egypt’s Oldest Rock Drawings
Jun 2nd, 2007 by Lee (admin)
Dr Dirk Huyghe, from Brussels in Belgium, recently led a team in the south of Egypt, near the Kom Ombo.
Whilst there they discovered a collection of over 150 rock drawings at three seperate sites. The drawings covered a range of subjects but focused primarily on humans and animals. They were drawn well enough for various species to be identified.
Experts date the drawings at around 15-16000 years old, making them the oldest known examples in Egypt.
